Um Grau e Meio is a pioneering Brazilian company in air conditioning, certified as a B Company, which develops solutions to mitigate forest fires and minimize their environmental impact, using Artificial Intelligence in a high-resolution camera monitoring system that automatically identifies fire spots in seconds, notifying system operators and accelerating combat protocols.
More than 17.5 million hectares have been monitored so far in Brazil, 10 million of which are in forests and native areas, with 2.4 million hectares in the Amazon region alone, monitored 24 hours a day. In the Pantanal biome – an important carbon storage area, the largest tropical wetland in the world, a Natural World Heritage Site and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve – through the Abrace a Floresta project, one of the largest environmental preservation projects in the world involving several entities, it aims reach 2.5 million hectares of native forest in the region, protecting the community and 140 thousand hectares of indigenous territories in the region.
