Microterra is a Mexican Foodtech company that produces a nutritional & functional ingredient for plant based foods in an affordable and sustainable way.

By using existing aquaculture farms’ infrastructure and leveraging a decentralized production method, the company is able to grow Lemna (an aquatic plant) at the same time that aqua-farms reduce wastewater output and  improving income for aquaculture farmers. 

This novel alternative protein source – lemna meal – is high in protein, fibers and a natural texturizer.
